We carried out the 2020 harvest of the Vinya Més Petita de Catalunya some weeks ago.
After a whole day's work to harvest our grapes, we can confirm this year's vintage was characterised by less quantity but more quality. The grapes are generous with a very powerful colour, and they almost melt in your hands. As you probably know, some of them will be wine bottles which will rest at the bottom of the sea and will become wines with a unique taste around the world: Vins del Mar. And others will go to the cellar of our hotel, where they will become our own wine, the Wine of Cala Jóncols.
We would like to thank all the team who made the 2020 harvest of Cala Jóncols possible, it would not have been possible without having great wine lovers behind it. Our grapes are harvested in a selective way, cutting the grape shoots one by one, in order to obtain a high quality wine production.
The 2020 harvest of the Vinya Més Petita de Catalunya is located in an incomparable area of Cala Jóncols. The vineyard was born in 2015, near the Mediterranean Sea, with the intention of recovering the pink Garnacha, a particular grape denomination because of its colour, neither white nor black, but rosé (typical from l’Empordà). Today it has become the best setting in this place, a must visit during your stay at the Cala Jóncols hotel.
Climbing up to the vineyard is a small excursion that forces you to disconnect when you reach the top, enjoying views impossible to forget and coming back, after a few minutes, to reality with your batteries charged and full of calm and serenity.
