Merkado Negro and Contrapunt Trio, next weekend at Cala Jóncols
Guests will have the chance to experience the best flamenco fusion on Friday 10th July at Cala Jóncols, with a performance by Merkado Negro. The rumba and fusion group from Figueres will take to the stage at the beach bar once again to bring us the second concert in our Música de la Cala season (Music of the Cove), which over the course of the summer offers us a great variety of musical performances to celebrate the Hotel’s 60th anniversary. Merkado Negro covers songs by Ketama, Joaquín Sabina, Ojos de Brujo and Raimundo Amador, among others. The group’s debut album, Al Revés, blends their cultural roots to create a fresh and original flamenco fusion in which their influences shine through.
The following day, Saturday 11th July, Contrapunt Trio will be back after their popular performance last week, giving us another opportunity to enjoy their jazz, bossa nova, Catalan music and country.
